Direct answer
Before ordering a roll forming line, give our factory team the destination site’s supply information and ask for an order-specific electrical schedule. Match the quoted machine modules, incoming connection, drawings and commissioning responsibilities to that site. A motor rating copied from a brochure cannot establish the power supply for a complete line.

Start with the buyer’s production task
Send the approved profile drawing, steel grade, thickness range, punching layout, target output and destination country. A C/Z purlin line may include a decoiler, forming drives, punch modules, cut-off and handling equipment; the electrical scope changes with the modules actually quoted. Ask the supplier to identify every included, optional and excluded station before comparing two offers.
Request one electrical interface schedule for the offered build
The schedule should state the proposed supply characteristics, the connection point, which modules are fed from the line cabinet and which need separate connections, and the documentation used to size the site connection. Have the site’s qualified electrical team confirm the local supply, protection, earthing and installation work against the destination’s applicable requirements. Do not assume a country’s typical voltage or a previous machine’s settings are suitable for this order.
| Buyer check | Document to request | Decision it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Incoming supply | Order-specific supply schedule and connection location | Site electrician checks available supply and planned connection. |
| Line modules | Electrical load and interface list for each included station | Buyer sees whether decoiler, punching, cutting and handling are in scope. |
| Cabinet and control | As-built electrical drawings, cabinet layout and identified component list | Installation and later service can be checked against the delivered machine. |
| Software settings | Agreed controller and drive settings, backup and access handover | Commissioning team knows which version was delivered and who may change it. |
| Isolation and safety | Documented isolation, protective devices and interlock test plan | Qualified people can test the ordered arrangement under local requirements. |
| Commissioning | Site test method, responsibilities, deviations and signed handover record | A factory run is not mistaken for acceptance at the installation site. |
Separate factory testing from site acceptance
A factory acceptance test can show a defined line operating with a specified coil and drawing. It cannot verify the customer’s incoming supply or site wiring. Agree which electrical checks are witnessed at the factory and which occur only after installation, who performs them, how deviations are corrected and which record closes each point. Keep the machine serial or project ID and drawing revisions together so an earlier schematic is not treated as the delivered build.
Terminology and source boundary
Incoming supply interface is where the installation supply connects to the machine electrical equipment. Electrical handover is the set of agreed schedules, drawings, settings and test records passed to the buyer. FAT is the factory trial; site acceptance checks the installed line at the destination. The IEC 60204-1 scope description covers the electrical equipment of machines from its supply connection point; citing that scope does not certify any Halcyon proposal or settle the destination’s installation rules.
Questions buyers ask
Can I size site power from a brochure motor rating?
No. Request the full offered line’s electrical schedule, including the modules and operating assumptions, then have the site’s qualified electrical team assess the connection.
Does a factory video prove electrical compliance?
No. Video can show visible operation, but it cannot authenticate the delivered drawings, protection, local installation or results of the agreed electrical tests.
What if the factory drawings change during assembly?
Ask our factory team to issue controlled as-built drawings and settings for the machine actually shipped, identify changes and record which version the commissioning team used.
Send the information needed for a matched proposal
Provide the profile drawing, steel grade, thickness range, punching layout, target output, destination country and the site’s known supply details. Ask for electrical scope and exclusions alongside the mechanical quotation. Use the drive-system checklist for transmission components and the factory-readiness guide for the separate production trial. Send your requirements to Halcyon for a review with our factory team.
